Insulin’s Job

Insulin levels in the blood spike after we eat. This might seem bad – who wants a spike in anything in their blood! – but it’s actually a very important bodily function that helps us to stay alive by delivering much needed fuel (glycogen) to the cells itself. The human body runs on glycogen – anything we consume must be turned into the substance. Once it has, it’s insulin that makes the delivery. But what’s normally a good thing becomes dangerous when someone develops insulin resistance, and later diabetes.

Sugar Consumption Should Be Regulated

Cutting out processed sugar, and anything that contains it, is a great choice for better personal healthcare. But cutting out sugar completely not only isn’t recommended, it can actually be dangerous. It would mean cutting out fruits for one thing, which would seriously hinder your ability to deliver vitamins and other important minerals in their natural molecular form. Supplements do work, but their purpose is in their name. They should only supplement a diet. They should not be relied upon on a consistent basis.
